I had a chance to hit the show floor today and went straight to the Epson booth.  I had heard that they made a projector that is also an electronic whiteboard, and I wanted to see it.

I was not expecting what I saw.  The Epson Brightlink is a short throw (close to the wall) projector that mounts on the wall and uses your existing whiteboard.  So essentially you are getting two things for half the price, and it is awesome!

I took a short video of the epson lady using it.  In the video she is demonstrating the cost effectiveness of the Brightlink.  But the part I want you to see is where she is writing on a wall with just an electronic pen and this projector.  Pretty exciting stuff.

Take a peek at it and see what you think.  Check back soon for more things from TCEA!

Well, we made the trek down to Austin and got here around 10:30 last night .  This morning was the kickoff of the TCEA (Texas Computer Educators Association) annual convention.

This is the massive get together of teachers from across the state to discuss and learn about technology use in the classroom.  It happens once a year, and I love it for several reasons.

The TCEA convention has a few different aspects that make it special.  It takes place in a huge venue, the Austin Convention Center.  It is around six stories tall and the entire bottom floor is full of vendors of technology software, gear, and tools.

Tomorrow, I will have some video interviews of people on the show floor.  But the meat of TCEA and the part that I really like is the workshops.  The third floor is full of sessions that teachers, tech people, and other attendees can sit and learn about different technology that can be used in texas schools.  These sessions are taught by other teachers and school tech gurus from around the state.  Its loads of fun!

Tommorow, the keynote speaker will speak.  This year, Christopher Gardner, will talk about his life and his story.  He is the guy that inspired the movie: “The Pursuit of Happiness”.  I will post video of that speech tomorrow afternoon.

Anyways, I plan on doing a daily post about TCEA and lots of video.  Its pretty exciting here, and I want all of you to be included as well.  Check back here for more news about the annual TCEA convention.
